A few updates about Dress Like Your Favorite Literary Character Day next Wednesday (October 31):
- On Literary Character Day, your child may dress up as an approved literary character or in their uniform. They should not come in regular "street clothes."
- One of my favorite parts of our day is towards the end, when students will read with a flashlight and blanket. It is a cozy and calm time before we send them back out to you. To that end, please send your child with a flashlight and blanket or pillow on Wednesday.
- A Sign-Up from our wonderful liaison should be coming around in the next few days for snacks (healthy and non-candy, preferably not Halloween themed) and volunteers. We would like four volunteers to help with a Reader's Theater activity and with a bookmark-making/snack time. If that is something you would like to do or help with, please keep an eye out for that sign-up coming in the next few days.
On an unrelated note, I know that some of the students in our class are auditory learners and might benefit from an audio version of "Paul Revere's Ride." Here is a link to a Youtube video of Sean Astin reading the poem. I recommend looking up a recording of the poem if your child does better memorizing by sound.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the marginally cooler weather!
